I have 650 images taken at a massive resolution (2000 x 3008) which need to go onto an intranet site. (I didn't take them by the way - not sure if the photographer was made aware they were intended for the web!).
Is there an application I can use to resize the images? Freeware would be nice but I will use a retail app if need be.

Thanks :)

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

Its certainly not freeware, but you can do it with photoshop, by setting up a batch action.
Hi there,

I've just installed Photoshop CS. Tried File > Automate > Batch but there's nothing to suggest I can resize the images. Can you help me out - thanks!

If it's the same as PS7, you'll need to create an action first. You will then be able to select this action from the batch drop down.

Personally I would go with one of the automatic batch programmes mentioned above, it is quicker and easier.

You can use Picasa2 from Google. It's free and outputs pretty good image quality. You can set the number of pixels and the .jpg quality. It also saves by default the existing picture so you'll have to delete those manually when you're done if you want to destroy the source files.

Seconded, used it on a clients machine today and didn't confuse him one bit. Honest...
