Bulldog any good?

Yeah I mean their LLU service. I'm looking for something not >£25 a month that is unlimited usage cos my F2S connection is almost unusable...

I read those forums but can't really decide if it is good still :o

from what i find Bulldogs ok. my m8s using it and he said its fine

but ive noticed its great for downloading but not as good for gaming. my m8 wouldnt tell you that tho as he things its the best :)

but i cant realy said if its good or not as aint used it befor

your just best of trying it your self and seeing if its anygood i think there is only a 1 month contract. not sure on that tho as your best looking that up for your self,

as for the price you just cant beat it :)

you do know you are not assured 8 meg it is up to 8meg all depends what your line will take.

i was with bulldog but service was ok but the billing is vcrap i left them 5 months ago and they are still billing me, ive emailed them so many times spoke to them, ive given up.

I realise I won't get 8mb cos my F2S LLU connection now is unstable at 4mb so they stuck me back at 2mb :(

Tosk: Is it bad for gaming cos pings are bad?

I wouldn't mind trying Bulldog if the contract was 1 month but on the website says 6 months...might have to check out Be.

Yes absolutely right, but does anybody get the full speed? Or are most people stuck on half the speed, or whatever.. I dont know.

I fancy Bulldogs non llu service. Plus I'm sure it says in the t&c that Bulldog connections aren't suitable for online gaming. Saying that I have been reading just about every ISP's t&c lately.

Service wise, I'vce not got too much to complain about with Bulldog, but as has been said above the billing department is a joke. I have been with them for just over a year, and during those 13-14 months not one bill has been correct, they have overcharged me by at least £150 and refuse to alter the bill (although they say they will on the phone). Currently trying to get out, which is proving tricky.

I've just this month migrated from Zen 1000 to bulldogs 8mb unlimited, the migration was as smooth as smooth could be, in the morning surfing on zen, then at around 11am got a text from bulldog engineer that i was connected. came home from work at around 12 (had to finish early was too eager to play lol) set up the router and i was away.

I live about 1.7km from the local exchange and experience 6656kbps down and 576kbps up. not bad great increase over 1mb. :D

had a slight worry over the cheap phone calls we had before, on BT we were on 18866.co.uk because we call abroad quite a lot as the inlaws live abroad. when we tried putting 18866 in front of the number to dial it said number not recognised, but luckily 18866.co.uk have a freephone number for cable users so I now phone that then punch in the number i want hey presto 3p/min to the eastern block :D (bulldog were gonna charge 40p  )

I seriously recommend 18866 to everyone here who hasn't already heard of them, the bonus being that its free calls to the whole of the uk anytime and no monthly charge either.

sorry for the plug but if I find a bargain I like to share :)

i get speeds of:

Downstream Rate: 6336 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 576 Kbps

bout 1-2 miles away from my local exchange.

get pings of 10-20 in CS:source and battlefield 2.

Their LLU service is unbeatable. Unlimited for peanuts, and speeds are constantly at a high level, even peak time. I would highly recommend them as they have VERY good reliability. My router has been connected for 157 hours, would have been more but i did a reboot

This is me with azereus(bittorent in the background) http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=c0299b1d10a475acd6229816ca0

This is me with nothing else interfering:

I have never got any lower speeds at all at any time. I sync at 8064/576 with a line atten of 27/14 and SNR of 10/23

Only dodgy bit is the phoneline. But it hasn't failed me yet(touch wood).

Hope this helps!

One word about Bulldog:

"No"

I agree, the service may be good(ish) but frommy experience they bill you a random amount each month, the one rule they stick to for billing however is to ensure it is always over what you have subscribe to :p
