That internal memo to staff (not press release) was leaked about 5 days ago.

There's no other news, so sites are constantly reprinting this 'confirmation'.
 
Ah, apologies if the thread title is incorrect then, didn't realise there hadn't been a press release. That's me just taking what Hilbert says as gold. Although according to the forums he already has one the CPUs, so I'm hoping the date actually is the 12th...

It does get overly frustrating the amount of people who insist on reporting that AMD, or Nvidia, or Intel have confirmed something and when asked link to random website who just SAY some random person TOLD THEM something, nothing from any of the companies.

When its official, AMD will make an annoucement, thats undeniable, its really that simple, same goes for any other tech company(or any other type of company).

Tech websites are amongst the worst for posting rumours purely for traffic an income though.

No they won't..

There's a video of them confirming October for Asia. (Looks and sounds lame like)
But if this doesn't launch on the 12th, I'll be very surprised. ES are with UK sites now.

All you're doing is arguing what constitutes official, and that is confirmation from AMD to public (But AMD don't see a reason to communicate with the public about an unreleased CPU's, so fat chance of that), but they will still have planned release dates, which have all fallen through.

AMD did technically give an official announcement on release, the 3 month window back in June, but they missed that.
