A bit of back story.

Been having problems the last few weeks. The PC was randomly restarting due to critical kernel-power 41 (63). Happening ALL the time. This eventually killed off my GFX card and one of my SSDs!! The RAM slots have errors.
I installed brand new windows, still restarts, linux, still restarts. I've bought a new better PSU, still restarts. Has a new GFX card in the moment a crappy cheap one, still restarts. All the RAM doesn't show up, even in BIOS. I put just 1 slot at a time, and in some and it won't boot. One stick in a certain slot and it will boot. Still randomly reboots with that error! Been fine for 4 years just recently started happening

So I think it is time just to update.

Current PC
Intel Core i7 950
Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58
Corsair XMS3 12GB DDR3 1600MHz (6 x 2GBs)
ATI Radeon HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5

Used for a few games, WoW, COD, BF3. Few VMs etc

Looking at;
Asus Z97
Intel Core i5 4690K
Kingston Hyper X 8GB 2133Mhz
GeForce GTX 750Ti "Low Profile" 2048MB GDDR5
Comes in at £504
(think I'd prefer to go back to nVidia too!)

Have decent Evo 840 SSD, decent PSU etc.

What do people think??

Thanks!

I could increase my budget to £650 TOP limit. But what graphics card could I get if the 750Ti is slow?

750Ti is whack for gaming, get a GTX 760 as absolute minimum, and bear in mind that you can pick up a GTX 970 which blows pretty much every single previous generation card out the water for as little as £240. Anything sub £240, AMD probably have slightly more "cost effective" options, but I only have experience with nvidia personally.

760 is still alright though, for 1080p 60Hz gaming.
Only a handful of games you won't be able to max out, but you probably won't be able to max out new (intensive) games that come out from now on.

There's some cracking deals on 780's / 970's right now if you can afford to stretch your budget limit a bit.

What PSU do you have out of wonder..? You probably want as minimum standard a 550W "80 plus gold rated" model.
