Hello folks, revcently got an overclocked bundle from the site

it was an i7 2600k overclocked to 4.6 and an Asus z68 pro mother board

1st thing, I can't get the ethernet to work, tried getting drivers from their site but still no luck. Anyone else have this problem?

Also in the system settings it says my processor is clocked @3.30Ghz and not the 4.6 overclock, should it say 3.30 or the overclock

I'm running windows 7

any help would be greatly appreciated cheers

Use CPU-Z to see what the core speed is, also run a program such as Prime95 to load the cores so it goes to the max set speed, you may have Speedstep enabled and or its just reporting the model type.

Is the Ethernet controller ON in the BIOS?

Intel ethernet controller was on, but another intel thing below it was off, so I changed it to enabled and im waiting on the computer rebooting to see now...

nope, that didn't fix it, tried drivers again, and then again from intels site, nothing is working. Anyone any other ideas?

cheers

if you go into device manager can you see the ethernet adapter under network adapters ?

Yeah it's coming up as the intel whatever it is, but it has the yellow triangle on it and it says in properties, code 10, the component didn't start.

i checked google and the indication appears to be a driver issue, do you definately have the right drivers ?

Yeah, i got them of asus' site, if you want to link me to where you got this info i'd greatly appreciate it,

If I return it to OcUK don't I have to pay for postage? I might just buy a pci card for LAN and use it to save time and money. Though annoying that I have a defective motherboard.

I might just return it then, I paid a lot of money for an overclock and I don't want it erased! and it seems that link their networking was intermittent, wheras mine isn't :(

Cheers for all the help mp260767

have a post in the customer service section at the bottom of the forum, direct them to this thread, explain the situation and see if they have any suggestions.

losing the overclock isn't a problem, overclocking forum will have settings needed, if not a thread will get a decent response.

does windows 7 try to install its own drivers for the ethernet ?
