Been away all week for work, returned home to find the snib on the yale lock. Get a locksmith out to open it only to find that some buggers have come in the back window of my flat and nicked a load of my stuff :(

Gay gay gay!

Has anybody had experience of being burgled and can give me a checklist of what I should do.

So far I've checked with my neighbours to see if they've heard anything - Negative.

Had the cops round to get an incident sheet - Apparently forensics will hopefully come tomorrow.

Cancelled my cards since they've gone through my document box.

They've made it off with a mobile phone, xbox 360 slim, ps3, few games, jewellery, ugg boots, ghd straighteners and a couple of cameras along with my nice new and shiny mountain bike :(

Anyone had any experience getting burglar bars fitted? My back windows face onto a wall so I don't care that they look a bit crap.

Who knew that you would be gone away for work?

Only people that I trust but I don't think they knew I was away as I think the reason they locked the snib on the door once they were in was so nobody disturbed them.

As mentioned, my insurance will cover my losses but my girlfriends jewellery was reasonably sentimental. Birthday presents etc so she's really gutted.

I think he was being serious... unfortunatly if it looked like easy pickings its not unheard of for them to wait til they think you've had stuff replaced on insurance and do it again.

Feel for you, being burgled is one of my biggest fears. I don't think I could even imagine the pain you are going through. I would be seriously distraught if somebody nicked all my stuff.

WTF someone stole my Post! They will be back! They have seen what you have, the layout of your place, what they took they know you'll replace, statistics show that you have a very high chance of them targetting you again in a few Months, and as you called me an idiot for no reason I hope they crap in your bed next time. :)
