My point is that someone wearing a face covering of any sort for religious purposes is far more likely to be able to legally contest any demands for it's removal should they wish than someone wearing a face covering for safety, comfort or fashion reasons.
Religious choices shouldn't be any more valid than personal ones.

The home office have said women can be asked to lift/remove the veil to check their identify.
And a shop keeper can refuse you service/ ask you to leave because of your clothing.
