I understood his intended meaning, nothing more.

To clarify, a claim often made by some Muslims about western societies is that we do not afford females the 'proper respect' and allow them to 'parade around like whores'. I assume indup believes this, or something similar, to be the case and was trying to convey it in his "oh the irony" post.

Ahh, so he's trying to take the high ground with his superior understanding?

Or is he making himself look a pillock as nobody else seems to get his witty remarks?

While that may be true Britain has always been a primarily Christian country, just as many of the countries in the middle-east are primarily Muslim. If you were to travel or live abroad you would be expected to follow the rules and traditions of that country. I fail to see why people living in/visiting the UK should be any different.

Because we are too scared of offending people, or hurting their Human rights  We live in a Nanny state after all.

ok, its like this.

the prophet sallaahualayhiwassallam said what could mean and i paraphrase "dont hate someone to such a great degree as he may become someone you love in the future, and dont love someone to such great degree as he may become someone you hate in the future".
at the end of the day allaah guides who he chooses. and an example of this is of a brother i know, a white revert brother who of his own admission in the '70s was a member of the nf and who used to go '****-bashing', and now he is one of the best muslims i personally know. so theres hope for you 'haters' yet.

may allaah guide you or give you what you deserve.

and always keep in mind:

"attacks on islam only strengthen islamic unity,so bring it on haters."

Can't see any rational justification for banning it, however I would happily support private businesses to treat them however they like, and for the state to fully require removal for security or identification purposes given reasonable grounds.

It's demeaning to women who wear them, it obscures the face on cctv in important places, it's antisocial when talking to someone without one who doesn't know what you look like and it's provocative/intimidating to those who don't understand it.

There's no place for burkhas in modern day society, even muslim culture. Hence I vote ban them to kick start the end of their usage.

Banning things is always the answer. Personally, I'd love to live in a country with less personal freedoms. Banning the burka will reduce terrorism against Britain.

I can't believe people think it should be banned.

If Burkas got banned, they'd look for something else to ban.

As with a lot of things; either all of it is ok, or none of it is ok.

Just because a very small minority abuse the system doesn't mean they're representatives of an entire culture - but you should already know that.

Owners of private property should have the right to have it banned only on their property.

It shouldn't be banned on public streets because that's just sad. I see many old muslim ladies on the streets wearing burkas, I couldn't imagine them walking around without it. They've probably been wearing it all their life, and never caused any trouble. The majority of wearers would never leave the house if it got banned.

Why ban something if it's not harming or offending anyone. If a plain black body covering does offend you, then you're just being a female dog or there is something wrong with you.
