Guys, need a bit of assistance here if possible.

I've run out of DVDs and urgently need to install Vista onto a physical PC. I have the vista ISO on my desktop, is there a way I can "burn" it to my USB drive so that it becomes bootable and Vista will install from the USB drive instead of a normal CD drive?

I can boot from USB which is fine, my guess is the problem will occur when Vista tries to load the standard drivers for USB.

Hope i'm wrong though.

Thanks

yup, I've installed Vista and win7 from usb a jillion times now. Not only does it save on disks, but it's much faster :)

if you're gonna be doing that then i highly recommend using vLite (the Vista version of nLite) to slipstream bits and bobs that you want into the install and while there might as well do all the settings and make it a completely hands-off install :)

http://www.vlite.net/ ;)

Automated Installation Kit (AIK) for Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 is needed for vlite and that's almost a gig and a half :(
