I made a data dvd with windows 7 and choosed the first option (something about like usb) and put some files on it,after 30-40 minutes i finished putting all my files on the dvd then i reinstalled xp.

Upon booting up when i try to get the files off the dvd it says it blank and that it has 0.0 bytes out of 0.0 bytes free.It says the file format is RAW,any ideas how i can get my files back off the dvd with xp sp3?

I think by doing that it uses a different filing system and also uses packet writing. You might be able to install something to read it in XP.

From what I can see it uses the Live File System, which *should* be compatible with Windows XP. I expect it will require an update from Windows Update though, so unless you have run that completely give that a go.

It also seems that depending on what version you use, it may not be compatible with earlier versions of Windows. Linky

This is what it appaears as,i tried to download a few window updates but doesn
t seem to of done anything,i did see a hotfix that describes it from the microsoft help website but it's dated 2007 and relates to vista's use of udf.

I'm thinking im going to have to partition my hdd and instlal windows 7 just to get all my downloaded files, bit of a pain but lesson learned i guess... :(
