Burning an Ubuntu CD - verification always fails

Can someone please advise what I'm doing wrong?

I've downloaded 11.10 directly from the Ubuntu site, but when I "burn disc image" verification always fails.

I downloaded an earlier Ubuntu version 10.something, just to see, this fails to verify too.

Please help!

try to burn as slow as you can if that fails maybe try to install from flash memory.

I have it installed on a 2GB USB key but the laptop I intend to install ubuntu on only recognises USB storage devices up to 512mb.

I'll try a slower burn, thanks for your response deadite66.
