Burning AVI's to DVD-R, what program?

Hey,

After some recommendations: I'd like to be able to add many different videos to a DVD with the possibility of having a menu to select the video. Any application that can do this easily?

I now use easy avi, it converts avi to dvd and burns them to dvd in less time than it takes to watch a film.:D

I should hope so too!

ConvertX to DVD converts a 700MB DivX Movie in about 10-15 minutes, burning the film to disk then takes a few more minutes.

Given the plus, that ConvertXtoDVD only uses up one core and yet its still *** fastest thing out there, I can convert 4 movies at once, and burn them all, onto my 4 DVDRW Drives, in less than 20 minutes... That averages out to 5 minutes to get a film from AVI to finished DVD if you want to get silly.

I use TMPG DVD ENCODER myself.

There are a few more sleeker and more professional programs out there, such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier, both of which are superior, but TMPG allows you to get results in seconds.

Sometimes though ,its a bit shirty over the video files I try to add, and so, another briliiant tool I use, is somehting called DVD2ONE and this, can help shrink a DVD down a tad and again. there are many other such programs, but when you want instant quick results and no fannying about, you cannot get much better.

So, to recap...

ConvertXtoDVD, DVD2ONE, TMPGdvdEnc

These 2 programs will let you chop, swap, cut, paste your AVI / DVD files, and allow you to add menus etc... Do pretty much anything really.

You cannot go wrong with them either.

Been doing dvd's for as long as I can rememebr and the best bit of todays software to use is convertxtodvd as a single source of avi to dvd.

Its great and easy to use.

Now, does anyone know of software that can be used to clean up a avi file before burning?

Regards.

When you say "clean up", what do you mean?

Im assuming that you have simply downloaded an Illegal movie thats simply not very good quality ( They cannot be cleaned as such anyway )

On the other hand if your own files on your Camera are not coming out very well, then maybe the setting on the Camera and/or the PC needs to be adjusted?

I remember that when I took over withthe DVD Editing of the ghost stuff, the so-called Pro cameraman, had 3 digicams and while 2 were the same model camera, one he was saving to the PC as SVCD and the other as VCD... Both different formats and both are poor quality considering the Camera was DVD Quality.

So, he was unable to have footage on the same disk due to them using different formats all *** time.

When I took over, I had managed to recover some resemblance of decent footage and I used a Menu so we could select the VCD / SVCD / DVD footage ( The end user didnt know of course - I have the menus names by the camera used ) and from then on, I made sure that everythign was set to DVD... Simple.

But as for cleaning up AVI files...

Maybe there are glitches in the files themselves, and occasionally the picture gets distorted... In this case, then perhaps somethign like VirtualDub might be on order? - Again, this can be cured by simply not using the program you are using to download the movies? - LOL
