Evening,

I've lost my discs for my white MacBook, and i need to re-install the software as i just bought a new hard drive for it. I have the DMG of Leopard and im trying to burn it in Windows so its bootable for the Mac so i can install it.

Just tried burning the .dmg straight to the cd using Nero but that failed. Any help or ideas on how to get this done? Need to get it done as giving it to a friend as i just bought my self a new MBP :)

Any help appreciated

Ta,
Jay

Nero can't burn DMG images to disk, in effect your just burning the file to disk.

Try using disk utility on the Mac it will burn the DMG into a bootable disk, keep the burning speed low though as it might fail.

Try renaming the extension to iso and burning with nero. This may not work, depending on whether the dmg is compressed which in this case it probably is. Search google anyway, there's plenty of people asking the same question.
