Hi guys,

Got a Honeywell cctv system at work and I need to make a DVD out of some of the footage. Got the .dav files I need no problem and although they playback fine on the computer with Media Player Classic (K-lite) and I can convert them for burning with a free .avi convertor, the resulting DVD are always corrupted... is it the discs or the files themselves do you think? Went through 4 today, using different software.

Dav's I understand are encrypted at source but I can't imagine they'd still have any legacy as a different fleet type would they?

Any ideas?

Does the resulting .avi file play ok in k-lite? You're burning the .avi file direct to a dvd as a data file?

Yep, that's the weird thing... both the dav and the aviation play fine before I burn them to disc :(

Thanks guys! The cctv allowed me to download the (.dav) footage to a flash drive, and on the standalone pc I'm trying to do this on, it plays back absolutely fine. I used a free .dav converter to convert the .dav to an .avi and the resulting .avi plays fine... when I try and burn the .avi to DVD, to be played as a DVD, using Freemake, all I'm outputting is coasters that play the first few seconds of the footage in a loop

Although the burn process goes okay, and the process is completed, I'm starting to suspect the disc drive. I've also converted the .avi to .mp4 in Handbrake but burning that still results in a 2 second-loop coaster.
