Burning DVD's

What speed do you all use when burning DVD's? I'm currently using 4x but wondering if I can go any higher without the DVD skipping.

I usually use 4x as some media I get is dodgy with anything higher.

4x always, just to make sure it writes properly. Even go as low as 1-2x if I am burning games and stuff. Might sound like it takes a while, but its fine if you leave it overnight or something.

Usually set to Maximum, get about 16x.

If i'm filling the disc to the brim I burn at 12X
If i'm only using 3/4 of the disc I burn at max.

I've found this to be the best method to use, adjust the speeds for how much data is going onto the disk.

I tend to burn @ X8 - X12 when using X16 Dvd+R media

A good rule of thumb is 4-8x for cheap stuff and 8-12x for the good stuff!
Never set you burn to max speed.

I always do movies at max, they never skip even using cheap media. I tend to do games at 2.4x though (legit backups of course )
