Just ordered an Indian take away for the girlfriend and I and thought I'd opt for a lamb vindaloo :) I like my food spicy with a bit of heat to it, so should I get ready to put the bog roll in the fridge  ;)

Anyone else had a vindaloo and what did you think?

I'm a little nervous about what I've just done :D

Oooooh big mistake!

If I am having some mega spicy food, it's usually when it's a free day / morning the next day!

Vindaloo is only eaten by British men who want to show off, so sayeth the local indian curry house :)

yup because it tastes of .....nothing

would rather have a tikka massala or something that i like the taste of than something that causes the ring of fire

1) You will inevitably touch cloth I'm afraid...

2) Do you really think that your bowel movements are of any interest to us? Surely you have thoughts or opinions you could share, perhaps you need some relationship advice or something that isn't 100% puro Spam...

Cor didn't have curry last night but something fiery rinsed me right out this morning  must have been all the beer.

Left me riding my moped like John Wayne

Too creamy for my tastes. There are a lot of other, spicey options out there which have a lot of flavour you know...

I just had some chilli salt beef and fried rice from a local Chinese Takeaway. I like stuff hot but now I have a runny nose and I'm sweating.

It was nice though :)

Well I've just finished it and lets say I won't be asking for another :D I opened the contained up to be presented with this rusty reddy coloured dish. Popped it onto a plate with the rice and started shovelling it in my gob.
30 secs later my eyes were sweating and I had to get some tissues to blow my nose. I managed it all but I couldn't really hear the telly for all the sniffing I was doing :D Right now my belly has a small fire burning away inside of it and something tells me my ring will look like a half chewed blood orange in the morning :D

And Zip, thanks for that advice :p

I eat chilli peppers as snacks and hot and spicy food regularly (and STFU to anyone who says "ooh look at you" - grow up eh?). I have to say that I don't suffer afterwards really. If I've been stressed or have a bit of an upset tummy I will get a bit of heartburn, but all in all it really doesn't affect me. They are designed to make you sweat - and I find it rather theraputic and enjoyable - but I'm a bit strange like that. I enjoyed the vindaloos I've had, however I didn't enjoy the phall's I found them to be a bit OTT - edible, but a little TOO "hardcore" or plain stupid. I prefer the slighty drier curries to the really saucy ones.

I almost always order my spicy foods (not necessarily indian) with a pot of yoghurt - that's the best way to eat spicy foods. In the middle east it's quite common that foods are highly spiced (traditionally to keep the bugs off it) - and served with yoghurt to disolve/disperse the spicy oils. I'm hungry now :o

I've only ever had two curries in my life.
The very first time (when I was 40) I had the mildest but had tastes off the others on the table. Of course several had vindaloo's and the hottest sauces imaginable. Because I was the least drunk I paid the bill and all the waiters were standing near by. I asked the Asian waiters what they ate when they went home and they answered chips, pies etc. I then asked what do you eat when you have curry and most of them had mild ones. This amazed me and I said that I thought you would all eat vindaloos to which they replied "No, thats for European men to show off to their friends".
