"Burning" smell from old PC...

Hey,

Just came back from a weekend away and turned my power strip on at the mains. Got a sudden whiff of burning from my mum's old PC (Athlon XP about 7 years old). Turned all the power off, but there is definite electrical-burning smell from the PSU. Should I still try to power it on or write it off as a blown PSU and not risk any further damage?

no open it up and have a good sniff around instead

to see any damage most likely PSU tbh any ideas on what model?

It's an OEM Mesh PC, but pretty sure it's a 350W Chieftec...

Maybe some dust has dropped into it from the fan?

could it be time for a new build or just psu?
