I have a Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675w and I booted up my system for the first time and a funny burning smell came from the PSU.

Although the PSU is still working and powering the components in the PC normally. There are three indicator lights on the power supply itself and when I jumped the PSU to test it all three were on, now that i have put it back in the system only one of the three lights come on.

Any suggestions?

Which light is on and what colour? For now I would keep your computer off to avoid the possibility of damaging other components

The standby LED is on and is green and the PG LED and TEMP LED are off.

When I jumped the PSU the externally to the system all three LEDs were on and they were green.

This. Best to contact the place you bought it from and ask for support, if they can't help then you can RMA, as oppose to risking damaging other parts in your machine by leaving it on.

Ive been using the computer for a day and everything seems fine, I've also done some gaming to put some strain on the PSU and no smells. Although i have noticed that the PSU fan doesn't not spin even when the it is slightly warm.

I would not be using that PSU, it's just not worth the risk. RMA it or buy a new one if it's out of warranty.

Don't open it up and "have a look", unless you know what you are doing.
