burning with Nero help - File too big

I've a film I'm trying to burn on Nero 7 but the file won't fit on to the dvd, how do I split it over 2 dvd's?

I'm using 4.7gig +R's

I tried splitting the file in 2 with a bit of software but it kept corrupting the original file. Anyone recommend a good bit of software that would split the file easily enough?

Use DVD Shrink to burn the DVD. It will make it fit on a normal 4.7GB DVD.

the original file is 5.6gig...will it shrink it enough? What's the quality like after shrinking?

Quality is fine anytime I used it in the past. Failing all else you could just buy some blank dual layer DVD's but I would try using DVD shrink first. It will handle a video of 5.6GB no bother.

If you do use dvd shrink, you can re author the video and lob off stuff at the start/end which will help increase the quality.
