Burnout paradise - windows 7 problemo :(

ok so my nice new copy of burnout arrives this morning, am happy and get about installing it lol

4 times, now, in varying methods, all with the same end result, game works, but i cant update or play online at all, google hasn't helped or the EA support boards, has anyone else had this problem, it dont even give a code, i've tried installing it as admin and as normal user, and each result is the same, i installed the EA download manager after un-installing the game to see if that made any difference, but it didnt,

google did turn something up about CACLS but i'm a software nub, and would rather not mess anything more up lol

Install the game as an Admin, you need to be logged in with Administrator rights to install.
 
i've tried as admin, it installed but still popped up with the same problem, i've tried everything i can think of, but no dice :S

might it be worth trying with UAC disabled?

Actually you did mention that in your first post. I have this game running under windows 7, I don't have UAC enabled. Might want to give it a go, you have rebooted since trying I take it? Sometimes installers get stuck, and msi files are still open that throws an install off.
