Bus noise on audio, Elimination of...

Does anyone here have technical information on how to eliminate "bus" noise on audio when using the front USB ports on an OC built system?

The case is an EZ-Cool NA-705 and the main board is a Gigabyte M68MT-S2.

My recollection is that on previous systems, I may have had to put in additional earthing somewhere, and it would be nice to know between which points this additional earthing for audio should be placed.

Thanks.

yeah don't use the front usb ports.

They are usually low quality wire that runs past all the things that create emi.

you could use a powered usb hub that would probably reduce it but ideally you would avoid the front panel usb for audio. OFC it could just be a capacitor problem on your board. I remember one of the gigabyte boards X58 UD3? had to have a bios update as a cap squealed when you moved the mouse.

The only way is shielded cables and or ferrite rings but even then might not get rid.

^^ Depends on the cause of the noise - you can get filters that are a mixture of inductors/LC filter/capacitors and/or regulators that will do a fairly good job in general but not a guarantee.

Unplug your usb connector for the front slot, both are on the same circuit for most cases.Had same problem and this got rid of it.Alternatively you can cut the circuits for the linked parts using a knife, google for detailed guides.
