I would phone up and query this, but I want to get it done tonight and sent to the company that does these things ASAP.

I've got a standard sized business card layout with an addition 5 or 7 MM extra to accomodate bleed - using Illustrator.

Once the card is printed and cut I want it so that the 2 rows of sqares that run along the bottom, do in fact run along the bottom and off the edges. I've aligned it and sized the squares so all squares are of equal size.

However, i'm having trouble as to how do I go about dealing with the bleeds.
Do I do additional squares in the bleed margins of the Illustrator file that once printed get cut off anyway.

Or..

Do I simply stretch the squares that are at the edge of the card/design into the bleed area?

Bit difficult to visualise exactly what you want but if you want the squares coming off the edge or even right on the edge, you'll need to bring them into the bleed area, either by stretching them a little or moving them slightly. If you just want them near the edge then don't worry about that.

Bleeds these days tend to be pretty accurate but it's not unknown for a trim to be marginally off, leaving something at the edge of the design either not quite on the edge or trimmed slightly.
