Hi all using a company called vistaprint, and im up to the stage where its asking for paper types, it asks for normal matte finish, which is free, or 215gsm Premium Quality matte paper, anybody know the difference from first hand experience?

and is it worth it?

Nice paper is always better than the norm, 215gsm seems like a nice density for a business card too, but it's up to you whether you think it's worth it/cost effective.
 
I would go for the gloss finish rather than a higher quality paper. I've ordered 3 different card batches in the past and the standard quality suffices IMO - unless you're in some kind of top top quality business.

Vistaprint - cheap print (you get what you pay for!)

I work for a print management company myself... so from first hand experience, they would be using a higher quality paper (e.g Silk, rather than woodfree). The 215gsm is the thickness based on weight.

My business card is a decent 350gsm and ouzes quality. Vistaprint won't get you quality I am afraid, but will give the impression of it to newbies!

I would advise a Matt finish, over a gloss varnish... or you will get reflections and find it impossibly to write on ;) (if you ever need too!)

I collect a lot of business cards, and I like the quality thick ones. :) It kind of brightens my memory of the person who gave it to me.

(I know it shouldn't, but it's a small difference that often shows they care, or they have too much money).
