I currently have a website through 1&1 for my business and personal, and I am going to take the big step of shifting domains. The first choice was not the best and I need to re-invent the company.

So I now have the chance of building the entire website on a different host. This will be a provider that needs to be good enough for long term, and although I do not want to pay too much, I also do not want the cheapest. Merely just one of the best. I have never had a problem with 1&1, but hear the customer services are poor.

I require:
At least 3 MySQL databases.
The ability to run cron jobs
Currently using 2-3Gb traffic per month, though that will increase. (Was 750mb last october)

Cannot think of anything else at the moment . . . .
This will be for running a shop on.

Also, I am currently using ZenCart, but I have near zero design skills, and most zen sites look so much the same! Is Magento any good? Compatable to Zencart?

TBH from what you've described most entry level packages would cover what you need. IMO business class web hosting = dedicated server, and I think that would be overkill for you.

As for good hosts, check VidaHost and TSOHost.

Cron and SSH are usually on the higher tiers only!
Dedicated is a bit too much at the present time :D.

I see those being recommended, but was never sure if they were suitable for long term and expansion. I know little about the hosting companies, and obviously compare everything to 1&1!
