Right the problem I have is with regards to iphones in the business.

Our company moved from Blackberry to iphone about 2 years ago.

The Blackberry could be preloaded with up to 20k contacts, but was crap at dealing with ical calendar subscriptions.

However we shifted all our users over to iphone, primarily so they could managed their calandes more efficently and subscribed to multiple calendars.

HOWEVER, the iphone seems to have a SOFTWARE limitation where if you put any more than about 10k worth of contacts, the contact screen becomes unstable and the phone can completly freeze on you!

This is a massive issue for us, as some of our users, need more than 10k worth of contacts on their phones! (Dont ask!)

Does any know of any good thrid party contact apps for the iphone?

Or have any other ideas?

(This was the case for all phones from 3-4s, we havent tested on the 5 yet.)

Nope.

We extract them from our database as csv files put them in outlook and sync phones.

We do have a Zimbra server, which has an active sync function, but that too seems to have a limit of 10k.

We have been in contact with APple about this, and they where not sure either. The guy I spoke too said, the phone should be able to store as much data as it has capacity.

So theoritically our phones have 16gb of storage space, so theoretically they should be able to store 16gb of contacts, but it doesnt work that way.

I think the little databases that the phone stores the contacts in chokes when the number gets beyound 10k.

The actually database on the iphone may only be 100mb or so.
