runs new and old software with out a snitch.
But there is so much more with ultimate64 £135 or £130 on a new 22inch monitor, I am using a 19inch widescreen at the moe.

The only tangible extra you'll get is Media Centre.

There is a product comparison on the MS site if you want to see the differences between the versions.

That's a pretty significant extra for a home user tbh. Despite the fact that I can no longer maximise or restore down whilst playing videos without it crashing (since upgrading to the latest nVidia drivers it seems).

if use Ultimate that can backward to Vista Basic or Home Pre or Business but only when detect any softwares you using -- when I open and loading very old games then it detected then back to Vista Basic itself to keep up and running - when exit it then back to Ultimate.. It work itself by Vista OS.

I have no problems with games, as a matter of fact I have had no hastle with vista business at all I have been running VB's for months and its fast.
if i'm going to pay £150 for just a few extra's then they better be worth it.
I got a 19inch monitor should I get a 22inch and forget vista ultimate for now.

Thanks all, I think I will stay with business and get a bigger monitor.
My pc is not being used as a business system it just happened to have a spaire
lisence and I did not have to pay for it so I put business on "it was free and legal"

cheers all for your advice

Not if like me you don't use it ;-)

Well I looked at the different stuff you get with each OS and there is nothing
That ultimate can offer me that I don’t already have via other programs.
so it sure as hell not worth the money just for a all in one media centre.
Don’t get me wrong if I did not have a OS then I would buy the ultimate version
