Ok so my gfx card started playing up so I order a 6800XT AGP. Fitted it tonight along with a new DVD-RW and now my pc switches on then click.......... click.......... click.......... about every 4 seconds or so. Each time its as if I'd hit the reset button. I've unplugged everything (bar CPU) and it still does it. Also bridged the green and black wire to test the PSU on its own and thats fine.

I think that moving the PC has caused the mobo to bite the dust but a Raid set-up and distinct lack of any back-ups from the past years makes me hope I'm wrong :(

Any help would be great :)

Did you remove the graphics card to see if it still makes the clicking sound?

I know motherboards can sometimes make a clicking sound from the speaker. My Dads' Gigabyte board does it instead of beeps on bootup.

Does the system POST at all? Could just be the new card is faulty or not seated correctly.

Nope, removed the card and tried another and its still clicking :(

Nope, doesn't post :(

If I reset the BIOS will I lose my raid setup and therefore all my stuff on the drives?

i see your raid setup.......it is probably the mobo, there must be a way to save the raid?

I could tear apart my parents PC but tbh I'd put money on there being something wrong in terms of the mobo or bios. If it wasn't for my damn raid I'd just replace it but I literally haven't backed up anything in about 2 years *cries*
