Well I now have some points. Was stuck in traffic and answered my phone, just as a police car went past, I wasnt even moving. 3 points, the officer was very friendly, remarking how he doubted I would be able to insure my car anymore. At the end of the day its my own fault, but it just seems that there are so many people out there who deserve them more than me.

Yeah it annoys me seeing people use them as well, but I had the hand brake on, so I kind of figured that it was unlikely I would suddenly kill anyone.

Insurance is scary, if this puts it up much more I'm going to jack it in. Fast cars are fun but I'll probably just use it for track days or something.

And if the traffic started moving? Would the OP just sit there backing up the lane until he finishes his call? I doubt it.

Do you know what the funny thing is, I only answered it to tell the person that I was driving and I would call them back.

Typical, that maybe the first time in 6 months that I answer a phone while in the car I get done. That's life, I was in the wrong and got done, still hope his whole family dies in a fire, and he inhales enough smoke to die from lung cancer over a period of a couple of years, but hey, I'm not bitter ;)

I did actually have a headset in the car with me, it was literally the fact that I was telling them I would call back that meant I didnt bother with it.

Anyway, I've calmed down a bit now, its just one of those things, bad luck happens to everyone and the officer was only doing his job at the end of the day. Going to call the insurance company tomorrow, no point waiting for the conviction to come though, I'd rather just find out asap.

Errr, Ive just looked that the Fixed Penalty notice, my name is wrong, my DOB is wrong and the transmission is wrong, probably just being silly, but that is funny!

Just reading through the responses I often wonder if people ever read peoples posts other than the original one.

Anyway, might be getting out of it, apparently judges don't look to favourably on the police putting down a DOB that states the offendant is 2 years old :D
