I have the MSI Quick Silver 1070, but since I got myself an X34 some of my games are not as smooth to run as they were before , so thats why I'm thinking of the 1080 .

EDIT : As I've been looking some of those 1080s have just shot up in price :(

A small upgrade to the 1080s is due veeeery soon. They are getting a bump in memory clock speed. Nothing super major but still an increase in performance.

Wait for that if u want to upgrade. Although I really don't think going from a 1070 > 1080 is worth it.

I'd try stretch the budget to a 1080ti

Hi there

I miss-read a NVIDIA email stating 1080 sell out support finished today, it actually finishes 30th April, so I have reset all 1080 prices and also gone a touch more aggressive, once we get to 30th April the prices will go up again and doubtful any will be sub £500 for sometime after this point until of course the product either becomes end of life or Black Friday comes along.

Though technically all 1080 is EOL and is replaces by 1080+ which has 11,000MHz memory instead of 10,000MHz, though in reality it does little for performance and cards like Zotac Extreme 1080 were already running 10,800MHz, the new Extreme 1080 shall run at 11,200MHz. :)
Unfortunately these new "Plus" editions are not as cheap as the current 1080's are with the price support from NVIDIA. :)

How does your clock?
Turn shadows off. No AA needed. Go high or very.

How much difference in price we talking about for the plus ones? Same price as old high end like 530-560? While older ones shift down to lower prices until all are sold?

Any chance on any movement on the Msi gaming x?

Well I dont use AA/ MLAA and so on they only seem to do not much at all, as goes GPU Clock speed @below 60c= 1949 MHz, below 50c=1961 MHz, below 40c=1974 MHz, above 60c =1936-1941MHz, Fan Speed @50%, only the fan speed is set by me,Memory clock sits at 4006, Voltage sits at 1061,( sometimes sits at 1041 ). all clock speeds are " out of the box" .

I have just run to BM's.
Wildlands 2025MHz @46c
ROTTR 2025 for the 1st part then 2012 MHz @55c Fans didn't kick in.
