Buy now or wait for gamble?.

Well, what's the usage/starting point (current monitor) and what features you're after?

If it's affordable 32" 4K gaming monitor, there aren't currently much options.
While overdrive is suboptimally tuned with need to disable it from lowest setting, if fps can't keep up above 100Hz.
But other current 32 inchers have still worser response times no matter the overdrive mode and overshoot unless Asus fixed PG32UQ's firmware.
Also while colour gamut is really just semi-wide, that's still improvement from standard run of the mill sRGB.

CES no doubt brings plenty of new model announcements, including newer AU Optronics FALD panel with very wide gamut and hopefully now modern response times.
Though not sure if there are new models into more affordable level.

At the moment i have a KD-49XF7596 Which is a TV. Nice TV but would like to go back to a monitor on the desk in front of me then where i am now to TV. lag in games is noticeable probably to response time. Yes this seems the right price for me and as you say the new ones will be even higher in price and no stock of these.

This will be my main monitor for some years.
