is this a good month to get a 40gb ps3 or i should wait, heard something about price drop or will it include DS3 later on, as i just bought a ps3 from competitor for 269.99 and i can cancel it at anytime.

help i need your input.

Thanks

Theres lots of rumors but to be honest theres always the possibility of some change in the future. Id go ahead and buy one now if I was in your position.

What he said. There will always be a better bundle/price drop on the horizon. I would feel safe as UK buyer (as we are always last to get the decent changes anyway :D ). It is fair to say that any "newer" model/bundle with a larger HDD and Dual Shock 3 controllers as standard will go to USA first.

I have always said that Gran Turismo is not Gran Turismo without rumble. GT5: Prologue was released around same time as rumble controllers in Asia. In USA it has been announced that GT5: Prologue will be released on April 17th. I have very little doubt in my mind that Dual Shock 3 will be released on that date, or slightly ahead of that, in the USA.

As with all high tech shiny toys that are often outdated by newer models within months, Buy with confidence when you have the money and then don't look back

Forget about the PS3, get a 360 :p

/Hyper gets ready for a fanboy war!

Don't listen to him, he is a "360 Noob" :D

Seriously though, check the Original Poster's sig, he has a 360 already!!! The 360 is good, but surely you are not suggesting he buys a second one? :p

sorry to hijack the thread but i am also considering buying a ps3 (although not for the games as i have a 360 and a gaming pc) if i did get one it would be for blu ray (the main reason) and final fantasy (awesome extra),

My question is, is this worth the £300 i will spend? i wouldn't really use the media extender (360 does this already) and the games just seem like 360 ports atm (i know this could change)

Thanks

Only you can decide if the console is worth it for 1 game an blu-rays. As a movie fan, I would if HD is your thing tbh. Certainly a bonus if it plays your Final fantasy as well. As to whether it is £300 worth it, only you can decide.

I know for a fact I would not buy any console for a game or series of games. If the blu-ray adds benefit for you then go for it. If you find any other games you like it would be an extra bonus.

I know the ps3 is regarded as a mid-high end Blu-ray player on its own, without the added games, internet, streaming, wifi etc that it also offers.

Well i get my internet, streaming, wifi from my 360/wii/laptop, blu ray and final fantasy are the main reasons for me to purchase a ps3, i am really looking for other reasons to get one but cannot find anything better at the moment, even the fanbois are struggling :p

I could not think of anything specific that you coudn't do on the PC or 360 tbh.

Got a PSP? (that opens up loads of new options ;)).

Nope, no psp unfortunately, not been into the console scene since i got a job and could afford a decent pc :( just recently got a hdtv though and want to make the most of it (hence the 360) so far the only thing to impress me is dead rising and maybe harry potter downloaded friom live, although it took 20 hours to download on a 20mb connection

I would say it might actually be worth getting a PS3 as a Blu-ray player (and occasional exclusive game player) especially now HD DVD seems pretty down and out. Im certainly considering it, once I can afford an HDCP monitor (stupid sony not letting me use my nice NEC which works fine with my 360 )

hi

well i got a ps3 today and i also own a 360 , i got it more for the blu-ray but also the exclusive games like gran turismo ,mgs4 and uncharted are games i like , though a lot of games are multi platform now its still a good feeling to know you want miss out on a game you like:)

He needs a second one for when his first 360 red rings :p

If you can afford one a PS3 now, then go for it. Technology is always coming down in price or new bundles. Just dont buy a second controller until the DS3 is released here, or just import one from Asia.
