Buyer advice, RX580 or RX590

Just thought I'd ask here. Looking at a card for the wife to do some light gaming 1080p or *maybe* 1440p.

Anyone using these here? Are they good enough for 1440p @ 45-60fps, on oldish games is the 590 worth an extra £20 over the 580 and anyone that does use one does it play well with ARK (she loves ARK ).

Also which AIB manufactures are best for AMD? Not bought a Radeon since the HD model numbers.

580 and 590 is basicly the same just the 590 is clocked higher due to better yields on the gpu die. I would look at spending a bit more and going for a nvidia 1660 or a 5600xt would serve you better going forward

Surprised there's any 590s around. But at £150 the 580 is good value imo, 1440p no problem at sub 60fps, settings tweaking will obviously help. The 5500xt is newer but doesn't really boost performance, but comes in at same price. If you're talking £200 ish for a 590 you're nearing 1660super territory which is a solid performer. Also don't have to deal with poo drivers.

Yeah, I think it's not so good, will either try and get them a bit cheaper or look elsewhere. I'm a bit nieve on the Radeon side of things nowadays.

I've seen 980ti go for less. I wouldn't pay more than £100 for a 580

They're not good value. I sold a Vega 56 for about that with mates rates discount!

I picked my two 570's 8GB up in my 2nd rig for only £80 quid each 2nd hand and been working fine for months... and that runs the wife in games fine at 1440
