hello all

i went to buy windows 2003 for my work today and they asked how many licences do i want? 5 users costs bah bah and so on...

I know when i install windows 2003 it asks how many licences do you want or you can do it per machine What does this mean ?

if i buy the 5 one does that mean only 5 users at a time can connecto to it? i
and when installing if i tick the licences per pc does that mean it will use the XP pro cd keys? i am not to sure on all this.

Thank you
Dave

It's per user most people use, also you need to buy Exchange cals as well, its 1 cal per user or machine that connects at that time.

Or if you go SBS then each cal covers both Server and Exchange.

However it all depends on how the network will be used, if you need user or Pc

well its going to be a small office of say 20 computers as users and everyone conects to the server to get on to the pcs

So if i put it as per user and have 20 pro pc's can they connect to it fine? together?

Thanks
Dave
