Buying A 360

how likely is it that it will RROD on me?

As likely as any other console or HiTec equipment failing. These have the Falcon chip-set which AFAIK have brought the 360 in line the industry standard acceptable failure rates.
Although I believe the 60Gb does have a slight modification compared to standard Falcon models, the memory controller has been moved to the top-side of the mobo - assume it's for better heat loss.
