Hi all,

Im not very good when it comes to shopping so i thought it best to ask for some advace! Especially seen as i know there are a large number of ocuk forum users who train so will have one...

I am after a blender to make smothies in and to mix my protein shake in (has bits in it if i just wisk it!).

It has to be good quality and i dont want one thats to big or small or one that takes a lot of cleaning or breaks when you put ice in it! Im prepared to spend about £40 max, the cheaper the better obviously.

Im at uni living in halls, so i dont want anything expencive, but it need to be able to do the job!

Any ideas folks?

Go to the supermarket and see if they have any offers on. I got mine for £35, should've been £80.

Unless you get one in a sale I doubt you'll get anything decent that'll do all that for that amount of cash.

Is the Kenwood SB 308 Night & Day Smoothie Maker any good? It is currently down to less than £20.

I have had a hand blender for years, You know the type of thing that you hold, plugs into the wall and take the head off for cleaning. It's the easiest to use and clean and lasts for ever (almost). Also, the thing that I find a major advantage is that you can use any container to blend things in, even the glass that you're going to drink out of so this means less washing up. They're also cheap. I have used mine for milkshakes, smoothies, soup, dressing etc. and with then attachment it came with I can chop veg, herbs and nuts.

Argos have loads of different ones I believe.

i bought a standard tescos one for under £20 for the same reasons as the OP, easy to clean, mixes protein drinks well, also doesnt mind ice :]

A smoothie maker? Not just a blender?

Be surprised if it outlives mines :)
