Buying a completely new PC

Im on about knifes first setup.
 
get a dvd/rw. They are an extra couple of quid on top of that one you got. Also you need to get another HDD, and like others mentioned i would get 2gb memory and downgrade your gfx.
 
My apologies, I should mention what I have in my current system; I already have a DVD/RW drive, with a 120g HDD that I'll use in the new system. It has an X800GTO but it is a lot slower than I thought (misleading marketing). The motherboard's an A8N sli deluxe but that can't run Intel Duo Cores :p

So if I bought the new system I mentioned, the dvdrw drive and the 120gig HDD would go straight into it as well. That would cover everything.

Are the benefits of 2gigabyte memory starting to show in this day and age? I used to think 1gig could handle just about everything now.
