Buying a console for one game!!

When I was a little lad I was bought a mega drive with sonic for my birthday, that was incredible! More recently I bought a Wii for Mario Kart off the strength of the cube version.
It still hasnt been confirmed, was scheduled for this year but unlikely I reckon, 2009.
Leading a race by miles only to be nuked out of first place by some noob in last. I think i will stick to forza 2 thanks.

I find it only happens when you are way out in front though, whether thats more acceptable or not I dunno, though it is a pain I still find Mario Kart sooooooo much fun, especially online! Its the only Wii game that gets played regulary tbf.
I bought a PS3 for MGS4. At the moment it's the only PS3 game I want, but it's not like I'll never buy any more PS3 games. I'll probably end up buying some multiplatform titles for the PS3 instead of the 360, it will help justify buying the thing
I said during the PS3's launch I'd buy it when MGS4, GT5, DMC4 and FFXIII come out.

MGS is by far my favourite series.
But if I get a PS3... I'll have to buy other stuff for it, such as a HDMI to DVI cable and a set of good speakers that accept an optical output. So I'm looking at around £500.
Which would be better spent on a shiny new lens for my camera and a guitar.
Just can't justify spending that much on something I may not use after the big titles are out. And the games are really, really expensive.

It sometimes feels like I bought the 360 for Halo3 (and the xbox for halo 1+2)
TBH if you enjoy the game and get the play out of it, then whats the problem? If you play MGS4 half as much as I played the halos then you will more than get your monies worth. Its those people that buy loads of games they hardly play that I think are wasting money.

ps3 for metal gear 4, i knew it was coming, and thats the only game that really interested me as i was so hooked on mgs 2 and 3 on ps2. even though mgs2 was a bit too short for my liking. well, i was doing a speed run and got quite a good time
