Buying a console for one game!!

I was so so so close to buying a 360 just for GTA:IV. A lot of other games like Gears of War, Bioshock, etc, but I was going to buy it solely for GTA:IV. God, am I glad that I didn't. :p I bought GTA:IV and just played it on my brother's 360 once every week or so. That was enough... :( :p
 
I brought my original Xbox for Halo, then sold it.
Brought another Xbox for Halo2.
Brought a 360 for Halo3.

I'm quite tempted to get a PS3 for MGS4, but can't justify the cost for one game (if PS3 was £200 I'd get one), I'm not interested in Blu-Ray & all the other games I like are on the 360.

I'm really disappointed with GTA4 as well. The relationship missions totally kill that game for me - so much so that I've all but stopped playing it.
 
Haha, this has reminded me of the amount of times I bought a Playstation 2

Bought one on launch day (eventually sold, had to get 3 as warrenty replacements before that)
Bought one for San Andreas (eventually sold)
Bought one for Final Fantasy XII (still got this one)
 
Have never and will never buy a console for a particular game, I'm just not that bothered about a single title to go spending that kind of money.
 
I bought an XBox just to play Jade Empire. Played it, enjoyed it, didnt buy any other games or play it again until 360 came out, then sold it to housemate. Was also slightly annoyed by enhanced PC version of Jade Empire coming out a few months after I shelled out for the XBox version.
 
Crazy to buy a console for 1 game imo.

Having said that I borrowed my mates xbox1 and went out and bought GTA:SA (out of my own pocket) to play that. (I still have the xbox 1 and don't know what to do with it, same with the copy of the game!!)

Also in fairness I bought a ps1 due to the high amount of beat-em-ups on or due to be on the platform. (So I bought it mainly for a genre, as opposed to an individual game if you see what I mean).

I once bought a Nintendo 64 purely for WCW Revenge or whatever it was called. I think the Yukes wrestling games were the only things I ever bought for that console :/
