I'm about to buy a PS3 simply for MGS4, though I'm sure it will become a good purchase, the game line-up will only get stronger from now on.

I once bought a Nintendo 64 purely for WCW Revenge or whatever it was called. I think the Yukes wrestling games were the only things I ever bought for that console :/

James bond Goldeneye was the best game ever for the N64

PS2 for GTA 3
N64 for Turok 2
Xbox for Halo 2
Xbox 360 for GRAW (and Splinter Cell Double Agent, which got delayed)
PS3 for Ninja Gaiden Sigma (and others aswell but they turned out to be crap)

I've done it several times and not regretted it once (except maybe the N64 but it was only £60 so no big loss)

Bought a PS1 for Tomb Raider, even though the flat (playing as a collective) had cleared it. I knew FF VII, Resi Evil and Wipeout were quality titles already out or soon to come, so bother there.

Since then I've always been pretty clued up on what's coming out for which console (I used to run a games shop, so it was my job ) As I always say, don't be loyal to a console, make your choice on the strength of the games.

The only time I got caught out was the Wii - got it for my birthday in July, was already sick of it when the Christmas rush came out, so made some decent cash for it. It's just such a half-baked console, if the first party titles dry up, it's doomed. I also dabbled with the PSP twice, just couldn't get into it. I'm still looking at it even now with Crisis Core

Don't worry, theirs rumor that the 360 version will be out mid next year haha, Won't happen but would be a surprise if it did. I really want it too but the console itself is too expensive.

Blu-Ray price cuts this summer hopefully since sales have been dropping on the players and films.
