Buying a giftcard to use on Amazon US

What's the best way to do this? If I buy a giftcard from Amazon UK it can only be used on Amazon UK. Do I just go to Amazon US and buy one? Wondering if my UK card would still process the payment

iirc if you do it on amazon.com it will stay on .com

I bought one to be sent via email recently. You just go to the US .com site, click to order a gift card (or e-gift card to be delivered by email). Choose US dollars / Amazon.com and log in with your usual UK account. You can pay with your normal card but get the US gift certificate. Worked for me, anyway.

my wife always send my parents in the UK amazon gift cards and my mother always sends us them. Just go on the relevant amazon site ( amazon US ) and send it that way.
