Buying a Mac Pro - Then adding RAM from OcUK

Hi Guys,

Im thinking of picking up a MAC PRO tonight 3.ghz quad w/ radeon x1900 - everything else basic.. then added 8 gigs of ram (having removed the RAM it comes with..

as long as i wear a static band - is there any probs with that?

Nope would be fine, providing you buy the correct RAM. I think it's pretty straight forward to do in the Mac Pro.

It's pre-order at the moment, so means they haven't got them in yet.

It will be better to go with 8x 512MB sticks than 4x 1GB or 2x 4GB sticks.

Purely for bandwidth and latency reasons
