Has anyone bought a new car online and if so, how was the experience? Im toying with the idea of buying an ST150 from coast2coastcars.co.uk which is available new for under £11k. I've heard there may be a bit of a wait but i dont mind that. If the price is good, is there any reason not too?

With cars online is no diff to normal methods because it isnt like you stick in your paypal addy and get it through the mail, ya still gotta go collect it so its not like you can get screwed easily.

Just make sure it is a full UK spec model, sometimes they are imports. As Marcus25 says try and play that price off against a dealer as new car sales have been falling for the last 12 months

Knowing how they work, as long as they are sourcing genuine UK stock, there is little to go wrong, although I went with newcars4me.com, due to being part of a huge finance company, I knew they couldn't just 'disappear'..

I ordered a car with loads of options, that had to be a factory order, and it was really the same as if I'd walked into a VX garage and placed an order.. just that I saved £5K...

I tried to get a local dealer to match it, but I doubt it, as dealers just don't get anywhere near the same discount as these 'brokers'..

Personally, Id take the price in to your local dealer, and see how close then can get. Id much rather have a garage locally that I have given business to and can go back to should problems arise.
