So my current CPU is the AMD Phenom 2.2ghz quad core and the nerd that I am, I've been playing WoW a lot and just got into 25 man raiding which is a bitch on my frame rate, the rest of my pc consists of 4gb ram and HiS radeon hd6850 graphics. I understand my cpu is a bottleneck in this system?

Just wondering what would be a good option to keep settings on high with a relatively high resolution and keep a steady 30fps ATLEAST in WoW 25 mans. I was looking around for some dual cores, I guess dual core is a good investment seeing as not many games make use of more cores? One thing for the future also is d3, obviously requirements arnt set in stone yet so this is just speculation.

My budget is under £100. Hope you guys can help. :)

okay cool, what about compatibility, seeing as ive got an amd phenom already im assuming there won't be any issues with fitting in slots or something. Or are there any specifics i need to check?

You just need to check that your motherboard can support that CPU. Go to manufacturers website or post your board make and model and someone here will check.

cheers, andy.

Board: FOXCONN A7VMX-S/A7VMX-K/A7GMX-S/A7GMX-K 1.0

This is what I have from Belarc, and from what I've checked myself it doesn't seem to fit AM3??? Which is what the new cpu is, I am really unsure about this though.

Ive been reading that an AM3 CPU will fit in am2/am2+ motherboards /w an appropriate bios update?

EDIT: I tried downloading the newest bios update from the foxconn website and tried booting the update which causes an error about me having the wrong vista bit version.
