I'm considering buying a new CPU for extra performance in games. My current CPU is an E4600 overclocked to 3.00Ghz with a 4870 512MB graphics card.

I have a maximum budget of £130. Could you suggest what CPU I should get? And if I was to get it, would I notice a nice performance increase?

Also, my motherboard is a JW-IP35-E bought from overclockers a while ago, but it seems they don't stock them now. It says 45NM ready on the motherboard box, with a 45NM CPU work straight out the box?

Any advice is appreciated.

If you want to spend the whole budget then the Q9450 @ £130.

But there is other decent dual offerings too for less outlay. CPU wise though the Q9450 is pretty decent.
