Buying a new ipod, Classic of Touch

Hi guys im buying a new ipod as my 80gb classic is goosed from years of abuse. I'm not sure if i should get the classic because i could use the 160gb storage or get the Touch for the apps.

The thing that interests me about the apps is the ability to remotely control my computer. I've had a quick google but can you please fill me in on the capabilities of the touch with regard to remotely controlling the pc. Like do i need to buy an attachment for the ipod how much are the apps to do this and also is it possible to browse through files and select media to play through vlc.

thanks appreciate the info, sounds like a good idea, my work are doing a computer scheme and you can get ipad's, might get a classic and an ipad
