I am looking for a high powered laptop that can cope with 3D modelling software as i am studying Engineering at uni. So a fairly decent graphics card is a must. I have a budget of around £1000.
I also dont want a 17inch screen as i would still like something fairly moveable... so around a 15inch screen would be preferable. I would like a laptop with large memory, around 6-8gb, so that i can run multiple programs.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked at the Sony vaio F upgraded to i7-2630QM, 8gb ram, gt540m graphics card (1gb) and 16.4inch 1900x1080res screen and 500gb (7200rpm) HD. 3.1kg (abit large for liking)

and toshiba satelite p750-137 i7-2630QM, 8gb ram, gt540m graphics card (2gb) and 15.6inch 1366x768res screen and 500gb (5400rpm) HD. 2.6kg (slow HD and low res screen)

and HP envy 2002ea with i7-2630QM, 8gb ram, AMD Radeon HD6630M graphics card and 14.5inch 1366x768res screen and 750gb (7200rpm) HD. 2.5kg (low res screen and slightly worse graphics card)

any other ideas?? also which do you think is the better choice?

In my opinion The Sony VAIO S' impressive performance, light weight, and powerful graphic. The 13.0 x 8.8 x 0.9-inch VAIO S is around the same size as the 13-inch MacBook Pro (12.8 x 8.9 x 1 inches), but it weighs in at a waif-like 3.6 pounds, nearly a pound less than the Apple (4.5 pounds) and a little less than the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (3.8 pounds).
