How important is the monitor in your rig?

Is it worth spending more then 120 bucks for someone who is only a casual gamer?

To me it's pretty important, i bought my Benq fp241w about 3 years ago for £430.00, i use it for movies as well as games and general pc use, great viewing angles which suit well for film use, (blu ray), but if gaming is the main priority a cheaper TN panel would be sufficient.

Er the monitor is the main source of your PC's output? You'll be looking at it probably 99% of the time your PC is on!

As wozza2k says, the monitor is the thing you look at for the majority of time so it's pretty important. I'd definately spend the extra if I could afford it in order to get a better screen.
