Hello, I'm looking for a new BT MODEM router as my bt home hub v2 doesn't work very well with my newly acquired ps3.

I was looking at the netgear dgn2200 and I was looking at the tp-link TD-W8951ND. One costs twice as much as the other. I was wondering if getting a cheap router is a false economy and should be avoided? Its got a couple of negative reviews here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-036-TP&groupid=46&catid=1595&subcat=2093

...but not sure if this is ocuk manhandling my buying decisions to make me buy something more expensive.

Should I just go for the netgear or would it be fair to say I would get the same experience with the tp-link? My only uses for the router are as a connection point for my pc and a wireless connection point for my ps3. And occasional Ipad usage around a fairly large bungalow.

I know that one is 300mbps and one is 150mbps, is this the main reason the netgear costs twice as much?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice

Better compatibility with DSLAM in the exchange, usually resulting in higher sync speeds.

Not always the case. Broadcom will generally give a more stable connection but not always the fastest sync speeds. For example, on TalkTalk, a router with an Infineon chipset will give the best sync speeds due to TalkTalk using Infineon equipment in their exchanges.

What ISP are you on and are you on LLU?

Read the OP. He's probably a BT customer.
