Buying a New Smartphone

Hello everyone I'm quite confused with what to get,cause current phone manufacturers pack so many things in phones that I'm quite overwhelmed. I'm switching from Honor View20 i also had before 1+7P but it was overheating even while watching YouTube videos or playing games abit. I was considering 1+8P but again I went to their forums and people report so badly battery drain and overheating . So my question is what exactly should I get? I'm aiming for screen 6.5+ decent camera performance and quite bloat less phone, I don't really care about brand can be Oppo,Xiaomi,1P anything I'd like to get some replies from people that actually got those kind of phones and are willing to share their thoughts about them . My budget is £800 so would be nice to find something in about that price. Cheers

Get a 8pro from amazon and see for yourself. Easy to return if you're not happy.

No thermal issues with my 8 pro and battery is great, had it since launch.

Mind boggles why you would waste £800 on a phone, I am using a xiaomi note 10 lite and its just as good as any £800 phone

Had a look at the screen on your fancy xaomi and no. Not even close.

The OP 8 Pro is a great phone and I experienced no overheating or battery drain. I didn't like the camera, nor the heavily-curved display. However, rumours suggest the upcoming 8T will get most of the goodness of the current 8 Pro (possibly with a flat screen), so I'd definitely wait on to see what it brings. There may also be an 8T Pro in the next month-ish, so again it's not a great time to buy an 8-series from OP.

EDIT - the 8 Pro 8gb/128Gb has been as low as £679 and the 12gb/256gb has been as low as £779 (savings of £120 from the RRP), so be aware they have been reduced in the past and the same may happen again.

Had a look at the RAM and the SoC on the same phone and no. Not even close to an £800 phone.

Thanks for replies it doesn't really bother me with curved of flat screen ,as I had 7P I was just curious about the overheating people wear highly focused on forums. So if I wanna get an 1+8P cause I've seen Squink posted prices any way I can get it cheaper than 800? . And why I wanna pay 800 for a phone simply cause I saved some money

. My partner got S20 ultra but meh...

Keep an eye on amazon, leave it in your saved for later. It has dropped to 680 twice in the last few weeks.

Can't rate the Poco F2 Pro highly enough. It's a great phone.
Camera is very good. Battery lasts for ages. Some bloat but you can uninstall the vast majority of it. I thought I'd hate MIUI but it's actually not that bad.

And the Note 10+ is now down to 549 at Argos, if you can be bothered to return the one you already ordered. 549 is an excellent price.
