Hi guys

Am I right in thinking that if I buy a PS3 when I am in vegas for my honeymoon in october Ill be able to play the games as they are region free but Ill have problems with the bluray films. Or will it all work like the UK one?

Thanks

Not sure about the question, but surely you should be doing other things on your honeymoon! Hehe, are they cheaper out there then?

All the games themselves are region-free but if they have multiplayer components, you may find yourself restricted to the Americas and not be able to play against your UK friends.

The Blu-ray films are mostly region locked although some aren't.

A quick google suggests you would only be saving about £20 buying in the US compared to here, surely the exta bulk and weight of it in your luggage isnt really worth it and at least you can watch all uk blu rays no problem.

I'd be more worried about the warranty tbh, Sony may not agree to repair/place PS3's bought outsite the U.K.

Sony will not touch a PS3 outside the country of origin. I took my UK PS3 over to the states when I was living out there last year, a month after going over it died being only 5 months old. Was registered under my PSN account and I had a receipt but they wouldn't touch it, not even if I paid for the repair service.

It was a good source of stress relief, since I had a £300 door stop when things went south very quickly it served as a fantastic appliance to practice hammer rage :o

A lot of Blu-ray films aren't region locked even though they will say just Region A or Region B on them. There is a list of region free (A) titles here: http://bluray.liesinc.net/ and B titles here: http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b

All games are region free.

Sony won't touch their products under warrenty if they are from a different region. My JAP PSP broke when I first got it and they didn't want to know, luckily managed to fix it myself.

You will hardly save anything, as has already been stated so no point.

Clothes = cheap

Most electrical items = hardly any difference

yep and avoid wendys, no matter how good a square burger looks on the menu. Just look at the people serving you.

Steady on!!!! One of the best burgers I've ever had was from Wendy's in Vegas!!!!! :p

Not to mention that the girl behind the counter was stunning!!! (come to think of it, that could have had a bearing on my opinion of the burger!!! ;))

Was it in the small shopping center next to the strip? i went there in 2004 and the staff were awful in so many ways and the burger felt fried. need to go back and check it out

Much better off buying it at an electrical store at the airport. Instant 17.5% saving with UK plug and warranty.

PS3 Slims are heavy. I was surprised when I held my mates while he was moving his desk around. A quick google shows 3.2kg which is just over half a stone. I'd forgotton how heavy my fat version was because it hasn't been moved for a year.
